Every once in a while I come across a tool on the web I find so helpful I just have to share it with the WebStarts audience. CloudCovert.org is one of those tools. If you've ever had to convert a Word file into another format you know this can be a pain. You either need to open the document in a software program on your computer to convert it or upload it to something like Google Docs and then download it.

CloudConvert.org is perfect not only for converting World Documents to PDFs but as they say on their website "converting anything to anything". All you need to do to convert your files is upload them to CloudConvert. There's no software to install and now browser plug-ins necessary. Open the original files and select which file format you'd like to convert them into and then click start conversion. After a few moments you'll see the "download" button appear to the right of each document. You can then download the documents to your local computer.

Converting documents into PDFs is helpful when you want to make documents available on your website. If you upload word documents to your site the people who download them will also need to have Word installed on their computer or they won't be able to open them.
